Venturing Kodiak Leadership Treks Registration

The Kodiak Leadership Treks involve backpacking for several days. The trek is typically 30 to 40 miles and may invovle backpacking in excess of 10 miles in a single day. Hiking is in remote areas and they are not easily accessible. Campsites are primative. We have found it useful to exchange information between the applicant and the Course Advisor prior to registering.

For this reason, we ask that you E-mail the Course Advisor. Please provide him some information about yourself and raise any questions you have on the course. Once you decide that this course will be helpful, please get approval from your parents and your group advisor. See the Advisor Approval Form.

Then follow instructions that the Course Advisor has provided you on how to register.

Kodiak Leadership Treks are is sponsored by the San Francisco Bay Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, starting on Saturday, June 19, 2010. The course is open to all youth, ages 14-20 years old, regardless of membership in Scouting. Venturing, Sea Scouts and older Boy Scouts, both individuals and crews or ships, are welcome and out of Council participants are encouraged to participate.

The treks and training are targeted for youth participants. However, on a space availability basis, we are considering the possibility of having adults participate in the treks as well - particularly those who are interested in running their own course in the future. Please contact the course director if you are an adult who is interested.
